When you are an entrepreneur, you often can feel like you are running in 10 directions at one time. You have so many things going on to grow your business, but are you taking care of yourself too?

So often, I have heard a NO for that answer.

You may or may not know, but I am a certified health coach and have helped many clients to take better care of themselves while they are successfully growing their business.

There are the key things you know you need to do like stay hydrated, get enough sleep, and eat healthy food, but I have 5 more tips for you as well.

  • Holistic Remedies
  • Supplements
  • Mindfulness
  • Relaxation
  • Fun

Let’s break these down a bit.

Holistic Remedies – Instead of reaching for the OTC medicine, try something out of the box.  I have been using holistic remedies to support myself and my family for about 5 years now.  What I have seen firsthand, is that usually those remedies have far surpassed the results I was getting from “traditional” ways of healing.  Start small and try diffusing some essential oils that you enjoy into the air while you work to see how they uplift you, or at night when you are going to sleep to see how they relax you.

Supplements- We don’t get all the vitamins and minerals our bodies need in our food alone, for most of us.  That is why taking supplements is important to boosting your immune system, increasing your focus and energy, and supporting your cardiovascular and nervous systems.

Mindfulness – Rushing around from one task to the next can be overwhelming.  It may feel like you are always “on to the next thing” in your brain also.  Being mindful is about being in the present moment.  If you are living moment to moment, you will see life and your business in a whole new way.

Relaxation – This is an aspect we all need to have in our lives.  We can’t be going at 100 miles an hour all the time and think that we will be able to sustain that pace for very long.  Take the time each day to relax.  Maybe that looks like reading a chapter of a book, meditating, doing an exercise you enjoy, working on a hobby you love.  I know these sound like more actions but if you are taking the time to do something you love, while you are focused on you and your breath, not on what is next to check off the to do list, you will see a big difference in how much you can actually accomplish.

Fun – Years ago, I had a business coach I was working with ask me what I did for fun.  I couldn’t answer her.  I honestly drew a blank and had nothing to say.  I had spent so long being responsible, focusing solely on my family and business and trying to be “successful” at both of them that I had put fun on the back burner.  I never went out just to have a good time, I didn’t have any hobbies, and I was so exhausted at the end of each day I didn’t have the energy to do anything even if I wanted to. Once I changed that in my life, things in my business started flowing again.  I grew my business; I regained my life, and I was enjoying it again also.

I hope these tips have helped you in some way.  If you have any questions on what you should be doing for any of the above items I mentioned, just let me know.  I am happy to give you some more direction.  I have a lot of knowledge in the areas of holistic remedies, health coaching and business coaching and I am happy to support you in any or all of these.
